We chained up just before we head up Mt Herman Rd. Al Fink provided coaching and assitance to those of us who had never used our chains before. |

Al pulled off to the side (no he's not stuck) to let others pass by and to throw in a quick jerry can. This part of the trail the snow was so fluffy that it wouldn't pack down, on this incline our Pinzi's were having a slow time of it. So Randy Barnes forged ahead in his 404 Mog. |

At the top of the next hill we waited for Randy's trail report, Mike Kinsey waits in some untracked power on the side of the trail. |

Bob Tucker eagerly anticipates the trail ahead. |

Three of the kids enjoy stew, chili and I-Da's gourmet treats and the start of a warm fire. |

Al tends to the "world famous" (or infamous) drink "Feuerzangenbowle" |

We line up for a break as we rejoin the main road. It was a great trip and we look forward to next year's Cold Butt. |
