Coldbutt Campout 2004

Thanks to Paul Buckner who provided the pictures and captions!

We chained up just before we head up Mt Herman Rd. Al Fink provided coaching and assitance to those of us who had never used our chains before.

Al pulled off to the side (no he's not stuck) to let others pass by and to throw in a quick jerry can. This part of the trail the snow was so fluffy that it wouldn't pack down, on this incline our Pinzi's were having a slow time of it. So Randy Barnes forged ahead in his 404 Mog.

At the top of the next hill we waited for Randy's trail report, Mike Kinsey waits in some untracked power on the side of the trail.

Bob Tucker eagerly anticipates the trail ahead.

Three of the kids enjoy stew, chili and I-Da's gourmet treats and the start of a warm fire.

Al tends to the "world famous" (or infamous) drink "Feuerzangenbowle"

We line up for a break as we rejoin the main road. It was a great trip and we look forward to next year's Cold Butt.

Here's a video of Matt Shepardson climbing a snow covered road at the Coldbutt campout..  Just put your mouse cursor over it to run. Don't let anyone tell you chains aren't needed.. :)
